Music and Worship Ministry

Purpose: The Music and Worship Ministry Specialization is designed to educate students to lead a music ministry in the community church or place or worship.

  • To Organize, administrate, and conduct a structured music and worship ministry in a local church setting.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of performance skills in both solo and ensemble settings.
  • Music core-related skills in music theory, music history, general musicianship and conducting.
  • Spiritual-motivated, Holy Ghost filled worship leading services

*Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA for courses in the Ministry Major to graduate

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

135 Semester credit hours for Bachelor's Degree

Instruments & Recitals

*Instrument is defined as voice, piano, keyboard, organ, or string instrument. If a student's primary instrument is voice, he or she must pass a piano or keyboard proficiency. If a student's primary instrument is a piano, organ, keyboard, or string, he or she must pass a voice proficiency and take piano pedagogy as the Applied Elective.

All students must perform a recital, during the Spring Term of their Senior Year.

Listening Sessions are required each year and Exams must be passed during Sophomore and Senior years.
